Most diamond cutting follows a powder coat base process, which can take longer. This service uses a wet paint method for the base colour, then the wheel face is machined and lacquered.

How the service works:
The wheel is removed and the tyre is deflated, then the tyre bead is broken so we can prep the wheel properly.
The wheel is cleaned and dried, the surface is keyed for adhesion, damage is repaired where needed, and the tyre is masked to keep paint off the rubber.
We apply primers designed for aluminium:
The wheel is sprayed in the correct base colour, including OEM-style colour matching where needed, then cured.
The wheel is mounted on the lathe and the face is skimmed to reveal bright aluminium with the signature fine lines. This creates the two-tone look:
A 2K clear lacquer is applied and cured to seal the exposed aluminium and help protect against oxidation and corrosion.
Masking is removed, the tyre is inflated, the wheel is refitted, and torqued to manufacturer guidelines.

Diamond cut wheels usually have a bright, shiny metal face with fine lines visible in good light. The inner areas are often painted a darker colour.

Diamond cut faces are bare aluminium under lacquer. Sealing helps protect them, but care matters too. We’ll tell you how to look after the finish.
