At DCA Wheel Refurbishment Ltd, we offer professional powder coating for alloy wheels in a wide range of colours and finishes, allowing you to personalise your wheels while restoring them to a like-new appearance. Our process is designed to achieve even coverage, long-lasting durability and a smooth, high-quality finish.
Powder coating is a modern method of refinishing alloy wheels that provides a durable, long-lasting, and high-quality finish.
Unlike traditional liquid paints, powder coating uses dry powder particles applied electrostatically and then cured under heat to create a smooth, hard-wearing coating that helps protect the wheel against corrosion and everyday wear.
This alloy wheel powder coating service is for you if:
Our team in Tamworth uses high-quality materials and specialist equipment to achieve a smooth, durable finish we’re proud to put our name to.
Powder coating isn’t simply applying a new colour over your existing wheels.
Your wheels are stripped back, prepared and repaired before the new coating and colour are applied. This gives the new finish a properly prepared surface and helps create a durable result.
We start by checking each wheel for cracks, buckles, corrosion and other damage.
The tyre, valve and wheel weights are removed so the wheel can be properly prepared for refurbishment.
If we find damage that may need additional repair, we’ll let you know.
The wheel is placed into a chemical stripping tank to remove the existing paint and lacquer.
This takes the wheel back to bare aluminium, giving us a clean starting point for the refurbishment.
Kerb damage and other surface imperfections are repaired before the new finish is applied.
The damaged areas are reshaped and smoothed to prepare the wheel for coating.
If the wheel is cracked or buckled, additional repair work may be required at an extra cost.
The wheel is blasted to help remove corrosion and prepare the surface for its new coating.
This creates the right surface for the new coating to properly bond to the wheel.
The wheel is heated to help remove trapped gases from the aluminium.
This is an important preparation stage that helps prevent bubbling and other problems from appearing in the finished coating.
A powder primer is applied to the prepared wheel before it is heated in the oven.
The heat allows the powder to melt and cure, creating a smooth, durable base for the next stage.
Your chosen colour is then applied to the wheel.
You can restore the original factory-style colour or choose a different colour to change the appearance of your wheels.
Finally, a clear powder coating is applied to protect the finish.
You can choose from gloss, satin or matt depending on the look you want.
The wheel is then heated again so the clear coating cures and creates the finished protective surface.
You get fully refurbished wheels with the old finish removed, damage repaired and your chosen colour applied.
The powder-coated finish also gives the wheel added protection against corrosion and everyday wear.
See how scratched, corroded and tired-looking alloy wheels can be transformed with a full powder coating refurbishment.

Excellent service and communication throughout. Brian is very friendly, knowledgeable and professional, absolute top bloke. My BMW wheels were all curbed so needed a good refurb in factory BMW orbit grey. Brian has every factory colour going so finding a match was easy. He carried out a professional refurb on the wheels which takes 2 full days to complete, not the quick same day or 24hr turnaround offered by other wheel refurbers in Tamworth. The car was also safely secured during the few days he had it. Really happy with the wheels, they look like they’ve just come out the BMW factory. I’ve used a few wheel refurbishment companies in Tamworth over the years but these are definitely the best, I won’t use anyone else in future. Thanks Brian 👍🏼
friendly and personable guys, repaired/refinished man hole cover damage to one of my alloys...ended up having them all done! Gave advice on the finish - a bright silver that really popped - and did a spot on job at a great price 10/10 👏
Fantastic service from start to finish. Very quick turnaround without compromising on quality and attention to detail. Brian is very friendly, professional and easy to deal with. 110% would recommend - thank you again! 🌟
Excellent service, Quality finish every time, we continue to use DCA for all our stock vehicles.
Absolutely over the moon with the refurb Bryan at DCA did on my OEM 437M wheels. From start to finish the service was spot on. Very friendly guy, excellent workmanship, great comms throughout and you can tell he genuinely cares about the quality of his work. I went for the ferric grey and diamond cut finish and the wheels have come out looking absolutely stunning — better than I expected. The finish is clean, consistent and OEM+ quality. Bryan also took the time to explain the process properly and kept me updated throughout, which gave me a lot of confidence after previous bad experiences elsewhere. Turnaround was quick, attention to detail was excellent and the overall experience was professional from start to finish. Highly recommend DCA if you want your wheels done properly by someone who takes pride in their work.
I couldn’t be happier with the transformation that Bryan has achieved with my Audi A7 wheels. They were 11 years old, curb rashed, paint peeling and generally looking very sad. Now they’re absolutely mint plus the colour transition from standard grey to satin black makes them pop - just gotta get some new black centre caps to match now. I’m really happy with them, massive thanks to DCA Refinishing Ltd for a grand job 👍👍
Powder coating is a good choice when you want a durable, hard-wearing finish. The powder is cured under heat to create a tough coating that helps protect the wheel against corrosion and everyday wear. Wet paint uses a different process and may be better suited to services where faster turnaround or particular colour matching is required
Usually, this is a wheel drop-off service. If you’re bringing wheels already off the car, we can confirm what to bring when you message. If the wheels are still on the car, ask us what we recommend for your setup.
It depends on wheel condition and what repairs are needed. We’ll confirm timeframes once we’ve seen photos.
Yes, where appropriate. The finish only looks good if the wheel is repaired and prepped properly first.
Yes, wheels can be powder coated again in future. We still inspect condition and advise honestly before any work.
Invoice provided. Bank transfer, cash, debit and credit cards accepted.
